The poem “Huswifery” putting finding the Lord and letting the Lord save your
soul into a role of a woman’s work in the house . This was in a use like a sermon to
preach what the Lord need to do for yourself. The poem use a very rural form of speaking
which made understanding the poem more in-depth but it was simple enough to get
through . The sermon in the poem used a lot of symbolisms to show the way woman’s
work relate to each other . While giving examples is a great way to teach the word of God
to people in that time to give a better understanding of things . It also still good to break
the sermon down to get a way better under standing as demonstrated in the following
paragraph .
The first paragraph broken down makes mention of the use of the spinning
wheel to thread lien . The use of the spool to holds the thread and use of a reel also .
The wheel is to mend the souls to Christ , the spool is the soul of the body ,and the reel is
to be a way to bring in the souls like the a conversation like in the poem to bring others to
Christ . The use of symbolism is strong in this part of the sermon and to end result to
show that souls are a big need .
The second paragraph is about bring a multitude of souls to the Lord can save
them from their sins . To make the more happy so that the can be a feel on a realm of
paradise . In the third paragraph it is to in related to the bible verse Matthew 5:15 which
states ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father, which is in heaven.’’ Which means show that what person is supposed to
ct like is you gave your soul to God . Show how you walk , talk and think in when you
have given your soul to God .
In conclusion the women do their own work to god in the chores that they do
to keep their household in check, which is their ministry .I also believe that that this
sermon was made in the way that glorify women’s work because they don’t want to feel
bad by imitating the Half-Way Covent to let women be apart of the church. So they
don’t just look like they letting anyone in just for their money not because the want souls
bring to Christ.
